About This Project

New rear garden patio in Indian sandstone. Raj Green blend in large format (900×600mm and 600×600mm). Existing lawn removed, sub-base laid, mortar bed, sandstone flags, lime mortar pointing, sealing on completion.

The Challenge

Garden sloped significantly toward the house — drainage needed to be directed away without visible drainage features.

Our Solution

Patio graded at 1:60 fall away from house in two directions toward planted borders. Perforated pipe French drain along lower edge leading to a soakaway at the end of the garden. No visible channel drain required.
